Meaningful carbon reporting with a quick turnaround

Pharmanovia had taken the first essential steps of calculating their Scope 1 and 2 emissions. However, they were keen to go beyond standard industry efforts. Due to the nature of their business, most of their emissions come from their supply chain. To produce the most meaningful report, it was clear that the inclusion of this element of their business was essential.

They aimed to calculate their full carbon footprint as soon as possible to kick-start their various emission reduction strategies. Furthermore, a quick turnaround would allow the inclusion of the emissions analysis within their sustainability report; presenting a true reflection of their environmental impact to stakeholders – it was a challenge worth undertaking.

Acting fast is vital, Pharmanovia are leading the charge

With a thorough calculation of Pharmanovia’s carbon footprint delivered, it is clear that carbon drivers sit in their supply chain. Scope 1 and 2 emissions – the only scopes formally reported by many of their competitors – amount to less than 1% of the emissions for this type of business – which is where Scope 3 comes in.

With both initial projects delivered in the required short time frame, Seismic continues to work in partnership with Pharmanovia on their broader Net Zero Strategy. An action tracker tool has been set up, keeping the momentum up in Pharmanovia’s carbon reduction journey and getting them ready for the next chapter.
